What about the Salem Witch Trials? Were the people who perpetrated those more or less intelligent, righteous, and spiritual than we are?
If you were convinced your local Elder’s Quorum president commited SRA, and there was no evidence, would you think a trial was necessary? Would you feel justified in killing him yourself? These are important questions you might ask yourself before judging the perpetrators of these horrible murders based upon the testimony of a few teenage girls and declaring that you could never be so deceived.
I bet they were about like us. Except, they didn’t have the legal power of the state to prevent them from doing some very, very foolish things, “The time shall come that those who shall kill you will believe he does God justice.”
“But oh!” you say, “These people [the Satan worshippers] are very clever. They have on their rolls doctors, morticians, and even butchers (!) to hide all the evidence.”
Great. So we should just take your word for it? Does God expect us to do that? He could have asked us to take Joseph’s word, but instead he provided us with numerous witnesses, and a 500 page work with a promise at the end that God will tell you it is true.
And there are other unanswered questions:
“How do you plan your meetings?” Does everyone whip out their Franklin Day Planner or PDA and ask, “Ok, when can we have our next Coven meeting?” at ward council or at the last Coven meeting?
“Why doesn’t one of these ritual sacrificers ever invite law enforcement to be present at such a meeting?”
If all these people are ‘baptising in blood, sacrificing animals and people, etc.’ where are the blood stains? How do they transport all these bleeding corpses from place to place without any evidence ever being found? Who and where are the victims?” After their meetings, (sometimes allegedly at meeting houses or even the Salt Lake Temple) do these dedicated closet Satan-worshippers stick around with chlorox or whatever for hours and hours and clean the rugs?
